CAPTAIN’S LOG | July 26 | We know Key West needs the rain, but we were glad the storms held off enough so we could make it safely into Bahia Honda this afternoon.
Pretty sunrise this morning at Long Key/channel 5 bridge. Windy day on the south side of the island chain as the t-storms just north of US 1 drew energy. We stayed dry but 20-25 knots from SW wore us out a bit.
We ducked in at Bahia Honda Park and dropped anchor at 2 p.m., after covering 40 nm. A dinghy ride to shore for a cheeseburger and stretch of the legs set up a nice Sunday afternoon nap in the cockpit for Captain and Crew.
